
WILMA JEAN WILLIS VARNON
Wilma Jean Willis Varnon passed from this life Friday July 15, 2005 at her home in Lumberton, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, July 17, 2005 at Farmer Funeral Home, 415 N 4th Street Silsbee, Texas. Visitation will be from 5p – 9p Saturday at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Bro. Danny Brown. Burial will be in the Friendship Cemetery, Warren, Texas. Graveside remembrances will be conducted by Dale Varnon. She was a member of the Church of Christ for 65 years and a member of the Lone Oak Church of Christ in Lumberton.
Jean was born in Pt. Neches, Texas, May 20, 1924 and grew up in Kountze, Texas She married Alvin Varnon, Sr. in 1941. He is deceased. They had 3 children. Surviving are Alvin Varnon, Jr. of Magnolia, Texas, Dale Varnon and wife Glenda of Cedar Park, Texas and Carol Varnon of Lumberton, Texas. She has 4 grand children: Ashley Varnon and Aaron Varnon of Lumberton and Shannon Varnon of Plano, Texas and Angela Flint of Dallas, Texas and 1 great grandchild Darren Landrum of Plano and also a special friend Robert Lee of Magnolia, Texas.
She is also survived by 2 brothers, Harold Willis and wife Mary of Kountze , Howard Willis and wife Beulah Mae of Lumberton and 2 sisters, Joyce Knott of Lufkin, Texas and Estelle McDonald of Kountze. Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Jean and her family lived for a number of years at Zavalla, Texas on a farm before coming to Lumberton.
