Aunt Shirley was one of a kind, as Donna has said, her quick wit! As so I will cherish the memories of the love & knowledge she instilled in me. It is the beginning, the middle, & the end.
I loved them all.
As we all know of her hobby of geneology, this would be the middle, as she asked of me to do a little research of a Great Aunt that lived actually around the corner from me in Conroe.I contacted her, we looked at pictures, talked alot of relatives & the relations. Anyway, out of the blue she called me up one night & asked that I never come over or contact her in anyway! I was in total shock. The next visit at Grandmas',Aunt Shirley was there, & I told her of the experience I had. I can still see her burst into laughter. This I will never forget, sooo funny. The beginning of all the wonderful books she gave me as a child, they were always special. And the end came, more visits at the hospital, rubbing her feet, she loved that, helping do her nails with Cathy. Then I stayed one night, relieving Norma, this was the very special talks & time I will always cherish. I love you Aunt Shirley & will keep you in my heart forever.
Love Always, Jamie

I remember Aunt Shirley always bringing us gifts of books for Christmas. She instilled in me a love of reading that I still enjoy today. I especially enjoyed the times I spent with her recently in the hospital and the nursing home. We talked about the genealogy research she had done on our family and she told me about another "Maddie" in the family with the namesake of my new granddaughter. She encouraged Alex, my grandson to think about the future and what he will become some day. "It's never too early to pursue your dreams and think about your future", she told him. I will miss her quick wit and intelligent mind. I love you, Aunt Shirley and will miss you.
Love, Donna
