
J. C. Ard, 75, of Fred passed away Sunday, August 21, 2005 at Tyler County Hospital in Woodville.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. August 24, 2005 at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Fred with interment following in Baker-Bell Cemetery, also in Fred. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
J. C. was a lifelong resident of Fred and was retired as a supervisor for 34 years from Bethlehem Shipyard. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
His parents, Turner Fate and Cordie Ard preceded him in death.
J. C. is survived by Ruby, his wife of 57 years; sister Ima Lee Yawn of Woodville; children, daughter Patricia Moore and husband, Roy Burton of Fred, son James Ard and wife Jeanette of Silverhill, AL, daughter Janice Wood and husband, Ricky of Lumberton and daughter Sheila Lane and husband, Murray of Beaumont; grandchildren Burt Moore and wife, Shannon, Arnie Hatton and wife, Tammy, Shane Ard and wife, Lisa, Chad Ard and wife, Cristy, Latricia Deal and husband Shawn, Rick Wood and wife Danita, Amy Marino and husband Mike, Crystal Godwin and husband Jimmy and Ashley Phillips; great-grandchildren Taylor, Troy and Gracie Moore, Brandon, Trace and Jaycie Hatton, Trevor Shane Ard, Courtney and Chloe Ard, Tiffany, Shelby and Samantha Deal, Alyssa and Erika Wood, Jonathan, Rebecca and Jessica Marino and Brittney and Aspyn Godwin.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Burt Moore, Arnie Hatton, Chad Ard, Rick Wood, Shawn Deal, Mike Marino and Jimmy Godwin. Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Moore, Johnny Adams, Tommy Adams, Billy Adams, Jerry Adams, W. H. Adams, Sam Wilson, Grant Ard, R. B. Dickerson and Jim Henry Dickerson.
