Gladys Jordan Rogers, 81, died August 31, 2005 in Arlington, Texas.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with interment following at 2:00 pm in Magnolia Cemetery in Woodville. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.
Gladys was born May 31, 1924 in Saratoga, Texas. She lived in Houston until the death of her husband, Texas Ranger James F. “Pete” Rogers, in 1978. She then moved to Silsbee, Texas where she lived near her loving and caring sisters and brothers until she moved to an Alzheimer’s facility in Arlington in 2003.
Survivors include her daughters Karen Powell of Arlington, TX, Lisa Simpson of Lake Forest, IL and Beverly Singleton of Las Cruces, NM; grandchildren Cyndi Bird, Scott Powell, Matthew and Jeffery Simpson, Nikki and Wesley Singleton; five great-grandchildren; sisters Zelma Bertram and Iola Jennusa; brothers Doug Jordan, Jack Jordan and Gene Jordan and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Southeast Texas Regional Office, 440 N. 18th St., Suite 7, Beaumont, TX 77701.
