Dear J. W. and family,
We just want you to know that you are all in our prayers. We will never forget all the visits we had with you and Ms Nelda. It was always hard to leave. Seeing you taking care of her, JW was a glimpse of the kind of love that Christ has for us. You and your family have blessed our lives and we are thankful to call you friends. We were so surprised and saddened to hear of George's passing too. Please give Jimmilyn our sincere condolences. We will continue to remember you all in prayer as you go on from here.

J.W. and family: There are no words sufficient to comfort you at this time. God is merciful and the next months would have certainly been "trying times" for her - but no longer. I am glad you are all able to be together and will pray for your comfort in the days ahead. Everyone loved Nelda and she will certainly not be forgotten by her many friends at FBCBC.

My sweet sweet huggen man, i wish i was there to give you a big hug.I know there is the biggest void in your life right now. But it must give you great peace to know that Nelda is alright now, no pain, and walking and talking and singing and probably cooking up a meal and enjoying herself. I am so grateful you have family and so many friends there for you. Jerry and I have you in our prayers and we love you. Jerry and Lorri Mcleod

Dear JW,
I was saddened by the news of Nelda's passing. You are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
I cherish the friendship that we have had over the years and was so glad to finally see you again this past summer. Tara and I think of you often, especially of how you opened your home to us before our wedding and that you came to our wedding from Belle Chasse. I remember thinking, "how strange that all these people from Belle Chasse and Baton Rouge and Austin are here together, because of me and Tara . . . people who would have otherwise never met." And then I thought, "this has to be a taste of what heaven is like. . . . people we love from many eras all in one place, rejoicing together." Thank you (to you and Neldo) for helping me build that understanding and memory.
You are in my prayers,
Galen

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you in this time of displacement and sorrow. Mrs. Nelda was like a second Mom to me when Lynette and I were growing up and my heart hurts for all. Mr. J.W. you were also like a Dad to me and have especially been in my prayers as you were Mrs. Nelda's right hand of God through all of this, along with your wonderful daughters, especially my best friend for life, Lynette. I will continue to pray for your health as well. God be with all of you and only wish I could be there with you all to remember the great and loving person Mrs. Nelda is and was.

Dearest J.W. and Family,
Please know that all of you are in our prayers at the loss of Nelda. However, I want to remind you that our loss is Heaven's gain. She will NEVER suffer pain again and will be watching over us. She was such a giver and did it with love and grace. Each of you were so very special to her and hweer love knew no bounds. I count it a joy to have called her "sister in Christ", special friend, encourager, etc. God IS good and He will keep you through all of the days ahead. Remember Roamns 8:28 and commit it to your minds and heart. We would love to at Wood Lawn for the entombment, but circumstances (Katrina) make it virtually impossible.. I will look forward to the memorial service at the church down the road. I would consider it a privilege to say a few words if that is your desire. We, too, will miss her greatly and shall look forward to joining her in Heaven when the Lord comes for us. What a comfort it is to KNOW where she is today and will be for all eternity. Love, Paul & Becky
