Robert Vernon Shelton Sr. Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1925 - 2005 Graveside services for Robert V. Shelton Sr., 80, of Fred are 2:00 pm Sunday at Cunningham Cemetery in Silsbee under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home. Mr. Shelton died October 27, 2005 at his residence in Fred. Robert was born in Beaumont and was a longtime resident of Fred. He was a retired mechanic. Survivors include son Robert Shelton II of Silsbee; daughter Cynthia Parker of Woodville; brother Thomas Shelton Jr. of Beaumont; three sisters, Aline Crocker of Nederland, Lenora Vanover of Beaumont and Sarah Priest of California; two grandchildren, Jason Mettlen of El Dorado and Jonathon Mettlen of Hillister; and three great grandchildren, James Mettlen of Hillister and Jacob and Ashley Mettlen, both of El Dorado.

Bobby was always excited when we went in to the Gib Lewis Prison to minister to the inmates. He had very positive affect on those who were in prison.
