Noel Austin BrattonFuneral services for Noel Austin Bratton, 89, of Spurger will be 10:00 am Saturday at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with interment following in Franks Branch Cemetery in Fred. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Bratton died November 16, 2005 at Holiday Pines Nursing Home in Woodville.

A native of Mount Olivet, Kentucky, Mr. Bratton had lived in Spurger for many years.

Noel was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Fred. He had been a Mason for 50 years with the 32nd degree and a Shriner of Spurger, Texas Snow River Lodge. He had worked as an auto mechanic at George Spiker’s in Pt. Arthur, with the Sheriff’s offices in Jefferson and Orange counties and as Chief of Plant Security for Texaco in Port Arthur. Mr. Bratton was also a Texas Ranger.

Survivors include his wife Sarah Marie Terracina Lynd Bratton of Spurger; son and daughter-in-law, James and Lois Bratton of Stearn, Kentucky; grandsons and wives, David and Tina Bratton of Franklin, Tennessee and Gregory and Bev Bratton of Lexington, Kentucky; great grandchildren Joseph and Emily Bratton of Lexington, Kentucky; niece Mary Heinz of Michigan; Stepsons, Gregory Lynd of Deer Park and Art Lynd of Groves and step daughter and husband, Carol and Gary Mathews of Orange.
