JOHNNIE LEE METZ
Johnnie Lee Metz, 75, of Beaumont died Sunday, January 22, 2006 at Pine Arbor Healthcare in Silsbee, TX.
Mr. Metz was born on January 15, 1931 in Shelbyville, Texas to John Metz and Martha Alice Collins Metz. He was a Korean War veteran serving in the U.S. Army. Mr. Metz was a member of the Pipefitters Local 195. He had been a longtime resident of Kirbyville and Silsbee, Texas before residing at Hotel Beaumont retirement facility in Beaumont for the past 17 years.
Mr. Metz is survived by son Elvis Metz and wife Melody, one granddaughter Caci Metz, and one grandson Mickey Metz all of Kirbyville; sisters Rosemary Chatelain of Beaumont Colony; Lovicia Metz of Beaumont; Florene Whiteside of Crockett; and brother Talmage Metz of Kirbyville; special nieces Betty Cleveland and Marilyn Harrell as well as many more nieces and nephews. Special recognition is given to his extended family at Hotel Beaumont, especially MiMi Hawkins, Monica Webb and the rest of the many caregivers there. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Vernice Askew and Cleata Davis.
Visitation will be 5 P.M. to 9 P.M. on Monday, January 23, 2006 at Farmers Funeral Home in Silsbee with graveside services at 2 P.M. on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at Rather Cemetery in Shelbyville, Texas.
