Bobby Leroy Taylor, Sr. was born January 8, 1934 in Saratoga, Texas. Bobby went to meet the Lord May 18, 2006 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, L. R. ‘Buck’ Taylor and Lizzie Doucette Taylor. He is also preceded in death by a sister Annie Taylor.
Bobby is survived by his loving wife of more than 50 years, Laverne Burwick Taylor. They were married August 5, 1955 at Central Baptist Church in Daisetta, Texas. He is also survived by his sons, Bobby Taylor, Jr. of Silsbee and Rusty Taylor and wife Sharon of China; grandchildren, Bridgette May and husband Jamie of Beaumont, Eric Taylor of Silsbee and Kevin Smith of Beaumont and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bobby was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church of Silsbee. He was a US Army veteran. Bobby retired from Temple-Inland Paper Mill after 36 years where he worked in the finishing and shipping department. He enjoyed working with the Silsbee Little League for many years. He was also a friend and member of the McDonald’s Morning Coffee Club.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, May 21, 2006 at Farmer Funeral Home with interment following in R S Farmer Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
