Lillian May RodgersLillian May Rodgers, 81, of Silsbee, TX passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at her residence.

Lillian was born in Clymer, PA, July 1, 1926 to Russell and Gladys Davis. She was a resident of Groves for 30 years and had lived in Silsbee since 1984.

Lillian retired from Sears in Port Arthur with 28 years as auditing supervisor, and then served 7 years as personnel director for Schlesinger Geriatric Center. She was also part owner of the Rujoli Corp.

Lillian was a member of Infant Jesus Catholic Church in Lumberton where she served as chairperson of the Parish Finance Council, was a member of the Parish Pastoral Committee, Scholarship Committee and Ladies Alter Society.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, April 19, 2008 at Infant Jesus Catholic Church in Lumberton with Father Paul Sumler officiating and Father Andy Moore assisting. Burial will be at R. S. Farmer Memorial Cemetery in Silsbee under the direction of R. S. Farmer Funeral Home, Inc. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm Friday, April 18, 2008 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with visitation beginning at 5:00 pm.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Gladys Davis, her only child, beloved son Russell Rodgers, sister Georgetta Cockerill and lifetime devoted friend and companion, Emma Jo Smith.

Survivors include one grandson Thomas Rodgers and wife Regan of Austin; sister Winifred Fleck of Silsbee; daughter-in-law Dianna Rodgers of Silsbee; four nieces, one nephew and nine great nieces and nephews.

"Remember me not because I died, but because I lived and touched your life."

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Knights of Columbus of Infant Jesus Catholic Church Scholarship Fund.
