Margaret Agnes "Meme" Austin Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1919 - 2008 Funeral services for Margaret 'Meme" Austin, 89, of Silsbee will be 2:00 pm Friday, April 25, 2008 at Farmer Funeral Home with interment following in Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Austin passed away April 23, 2008 at Silsbee Oaks Healthcare. A native of Brackettville, Margaret was a longtime resident of Silsbee. She was a loving daughter, mother, sister and grandmother to her family. Mrs. Austin volunteered as a Foster Grandparent for SISD for many years and worked for the Department of Human Resource until retirement. Mrs. Austin was preceded in death by her parents, Rupert and Laura Breiten Montalvo and son-in-law Larry Stricklan. Survivors include her daughter Liz Stricklan of Silsbee; brother William Montalvo and wife Tate of Georgetown; sisters Clara Flores of Beaumont and Esther Callaway and husband Curtis of Fred; grandchildren Donald Paul Stricklan, Larry Stricklan, Jr., Kelly Stricklan, Sabrina Partain, Shandy Stricklan and Brenda Vandenberg; great grandchildren Dyanna Stricklan, Chase Partain and Chance Partain; four nieces and seven nephews.

Dear Shandy and Family; Our thoughts and prayers go out to you during this loss that you must face. Meme was the most wonderful person I have ever met in my life, and the most memorable of my childhood. You were very blessed to have had such a wonderful soul for as long as you did, and though she will be greatly missed, just look at the mark she left on the world she lived in and the people that she loved. Sabrina, my thoughts and prayers go out to you and the rest of the family. I was so sorry to hear about the passing of your grandmother. I remember her from when Michael, my middle son was in school. She always spoke whether she knew you or not and oh that smile, was worth everything.
