Funeral services for Viola Benton, 71, of Spurger will be 2:00 PM Monday at Pleasant Hill Church in Spurger with interment following in Turner Branch Cemetery in Spurger under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Benton died October 3, 2008 at Woodville Health and Rehab Center.
A native of Fred, Viola lived in Spurger and was a lifelong resident of Tyler County. She was a retired bus driver for Spurger ISD.
Mrs. Benton was preceded in death by her husband L. T. Benton and son Roger Dale Benton. Survivors include sons Bobby Joe Benton and wife Rhonda of Fannett and Allen Benton and wife Shannon of Spurger; brother Stanley Ard of Spurger; sisters Velma Wilson of Thicket, Thelma Spikes of Bullard and Helen Hutto of Dam B; twelve grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
