Dearest Ruth and Family, It grieves my heart to hear of Ed's death. We in Data Processing at Kirby loved and respected him so very much. Although he was our Manager, he was still a sincere friend of ours. Just a few days back I was looking at my scrapbook and I had saved a picture of him when he had been appointed Manager of Accounting, Administrative, and Computer Services departments. I had written by the side of his picture, "A Great Boss! He believed in my potential and pushed me onward." Most of us in Data Processing felt the same way about him. Although I hadn't seen him in a long time, I thought of you both real often as I would pass your house. My sympathy goes out to you and your family at this time. Mary Lowe Haynes.
