Bobbie Louise (Grimes) Boyett was born July 1, 1927 in Kirbyville Texas to Allen Burgman "Coon" and Bonnie Bell Grimes. After graduating from Kirbyville High School she worked at Mixon Brothers in Kirbyville and the Orange Shipyard during World War 2.

On June 11, 1948 she married Edward Boyett. They moved to Silsbee in 1949 and lived there until her departure from this earth on September 12, 2009.

She was a stay-at-home mother and housewife until the age of 50 when she began classes at Lamar University. She graduated from Lamar with a BS degree and a teaching certification. At the age of 54 began teaching Vocational Education and office administration at Kountze High School. While teaching she continued her education and at the age of 57 received a Masters Degree from the University of Houston. During the fourteen years she taught at Kountze High School, she was the annual advisor for eleven years, involved with various student organizations and Special Olympics. Before retiring at age 68, she taught briefly at Lamar University.

Bobbie is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward Boyett, her parents A.B. "Coon" and Bonnie Bell Grimes, sisters Barbara Ann Day and Babetta Sue Cochran.

She will be remembered by her children, Diane Gore, Nola and Pete Baker, James and Michelle Boyett as a devoted and caring mother, with a sense of humor to the end. "MeMaw" was adored by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She leaves each with their own special memories, but all with memories of Christmas and camping trips. Surviving grandchildren are Jerry Niles, Jr. and Kristi Gore, Terri and Rex Murray, Kathy and Michael Merritt, Rodney and Amanda Baker, Jeremy and Rachel Boyett, Joshua and Stephanie Baker, Jamie and Larry Moss, Celess Williams, and Corey Boyett. Great-Grandchildren are Jacob Murray, Jordan Murray, Jackson Gore, Avery Gore, Gavin Merritt, Hunter Boyett, Isabella Merritt, Ty Gore, Makayla Baker, Mickey Boyett, Zowie Coulter, Madison Boyett, Canyon Baker, Colten Mitchem, and Dallas Moss. She is also survived by two loving and caring sisters, Bonnie Fee and Brenda Kay, brother-in-laws, Don Kay and Chuck Cochran and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at First Baptist Church in Silsbee, Texas with Rev. Dr. Scott Moody officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Springs Cemetery in Magnolia Springs, Texas. Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM Tuesday at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee.

She was definately a great lady. We will miss her smile,and the way she walked around at mill creek with her TP in her hand. She and Edward made many a fishing trip with our family there. My daughters Cassie and Keri loved going on Mr. Edwards pontoon. God bless you all for you loss. She will be greatly missed.

I taught at Kountze High School with Mrs. Boyett. What a wonderful teacher she was! She leaves a legacy of intelligent humor to those of us who worked with her. What I'd give for one more conversation with her! Praying for her family and close friends during this time.

Mrs. Boyett was a wonderful teacher. She was always there to listen when you needed to talk. I still have the gift that she gave me when I graduated. My prayers go out to the family.
