Funeral services for Fred Allen Smith, 72, of Silsbee will be 10:00 am Saturday, October 10, 2009 at the Mormon Church in Silsbee with interment following in R S Farmer Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Smith died October 7. 2009 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
A native of Port Arthur, Fred was a long time resident of Silsbee. Mr. Smith proudly served his country and retired from the US Army. He also worked as an electrical engineer for Bayer Co.
Survivors include his loving wife of almost 53 years, Elsie Foster Smith of Silsbee; sons Don Smith of Lumberton, Dan Smith of North Carolina and David Smith of Silsbee; sister Lorene Griffin of Lake Jackson; brother Bob Smith of Nederland and twelve grandchildren.
