Evelyn Rhea Sheffield Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1934 - 2009 Funeral services for Evelyn Rhea Sheffield, 75 of Lumberton will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at First Baptist Church of Loeb under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Sheffield died November 15, 2009 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Hearne, Texas Evelyn was a longtime resident of Lumberton. She was homemaker and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Preceded in death by parents Charlie and Julia Dorsey and sister Julie Reid. Survivors include husband Howard Sheffield of Lumberton; daughter Lois Rhea Thomas and husband Jimmy of Lumberton; sister Nita Sue Soileau of Lumberton; brothers Leon Dorsey of Nacogdoches, Cecil Dorsey of Pearland and Kenneth Dorsey of Kearney, Nebraska and three grandchildren Justin Thomas, Carter Thomas and Natalie Thomas.

Mom I miss you so much! I have to keep telling myself you are in a better place and are no longer in pain but the selfish side of me wants you back here with me. You were the best mother and friend. I will greatly miss our shopping trips, movie time and everything. Life will no longer be the same but I know you will be keeping an eye on us. My heart is heavy with this news. I'm so sorry for your loss. She was such a special person to me, like an adopted mother. I could always talk to her about anything and she always treated me like one of her own.
