Vada Maxine Burnett Click for Condolences      Printable Version
1943 - 2009

Vada Maxine Burnett left this life on November 30, 2009 as she had lived: with a home full of loving family and friends.

Nanny never failed to have a pot full of coffee, an extra plate of food and a warm smile for everyone who came to her door.

She was born to Lessie and J. C. Burrell on January 3, 1943. She lived in Evadale all her life.

She is preceded in death by her daughter Lisa Marie Burnett Pender, father J. C. Burrell, brother Bryant Burrell and sister Vivian Goins.

She is survived by her mother Lessie Burrell. Nanny is also survived by the love of her life D. R. 'Bill' Burnett. They have shared fifty years of happiness. She is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lessie and David Nance with their children, Dustin, Cody and Casey; her son and daughter-in-law Chance and Candy Burnett with their children Chance Hunter and Brooke; granddaughter Kelli Pender; great grandchildren Brayden and Carter Carroll and Skylar Brittain. In addition to direct family, the following foster children and their spouses are left to mourn her passing - Mary and Mickey Cobb, Johnnie Mae and Bo Foret and Jeff Billot, Phyllis and Steven Ingham with eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Nanny and Poppa have a shared passion for family. They have not only raised their three children, but also fostered many more. So many mornings, they never knew how many children would be in their home.

Nanny's last words were "love one another and take care of the babies".

Visitation will be held at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee from 5 pm until 9 pm Thursday, December 3, 2009. Services will be held at Farmer Funeral Home on Friday, December 4, 2009 at 2 pm with a graveside memorial at Morse Cemetery in Buna. Family friend Gilbert Adams will preside over the services.
