Funeral services for Sylvester Daniels, 86, of Silsbee will be 11:00 am Monday, January 18, 2010 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with interment following at R. S. Farmer Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Daniels died January 15, 2010 at Pine Arbor Health Care in Silsbee.
S. R. was a native of Castlerock, Kentucky and a longtime resident of Silsbee. He was foreman over the fleet maintenance department with the City of Beaumont and he proudly served his country during WWII with the US Army.
Survivors include wife Nancy Daniels of Silsbee; daughters Sharlett Daniels Reinke and husband Gary of Lincoln, Nebraska, Gwen Harris of Plano, Texas and Sharon Wilson of Lumberton; sons George James Daniels of Vidor and Danny Ray Daniels and wife Andi of Beaumont; brothers Carroll Daniels and wife Bill of Longview and Leroy Daniels and wife Dee of Gilmore; sisters Hazel Carlisle of Dallas and Jeanette McCrea of New York; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
S. R.s passion was helping people and animals in need. Memorial contributions may be made to any homeless or animal shelter.
The family wishes to express the utmost admiration and appreciation to the staffs at Pine Arbor and Texas Home Health Hospice for their excellent love and care of S. R.
