Funeral services for Mildred Ramer, 84, of Spurger, will be 2:00 pm Sunday, February 14, 2010 at First Baptist Church in Spurger with interment following in Turner Branch Cemetery. A short visitation will begin at 1:30 pm Sunday at the church.
Mrs. Ramer died February 10, 2010 at Magnolia Place Healthcare in Liberty.
Born April 4, 1925 in Spurger, she was the youngest daughter and one of five children of James and Cora Bingham. Mildred was married for 52 years to her childhood sweetheart, Marvin 'Puddin' Ramer, until his death in 1995.
Mrs. Ramer began her career at the Spurger Post Office as a part-time clerk in 1962. She became postmaster in 1974 and worked until her retirement in 1985.
Mildred is survived by sister Mary Vinson of Natchez, MS and brothers James H. Bingham Jr. of Spurger and Oscar Lee Bingham of Dayton. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
