Lois  TarverFuneral services for Lois Tarver, 87, of Silsbee will be 2:00pm Thursday, March 4, 2010 at First Baptist Church Silsbee with interment following in Resthaven Cemetery. There will be an Eastern Star graveside service.

Visitation will begin 5:00pm Wednesday March 3, 2010 at R.S. Farmer Funeral Home.

Mrs. Tarver died February 28, 2010 at Silsbee Oaks Nursing Home.

Mrs. Tarver was a native of Bronson and resident of Silsbee.

She was a longtime office manager for Britton-Cravens Lumber Company and was an active member of Eastern Star #298.

Lois enjoyed her Sunday school class taught by Mrs. Armour, playing bridge and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, especially around the holidays.

Mrs. Tarver was preceded in death by husband W.E. "Sugar" Tarver, parents Malcom and Emma McGown, brother Milton McGown and sister Ida Pearl Wall.

Survivors include son Billy and wife Pat Tarver of College Station; three daughters Patricia Harvey of Silsbee, Elaine and husband Joe Hawthorne of Silsbee, Mary and husband Al Ashworth of Lumberton; three sisters Rubye Jones of Port Arthur, Mildred West of Port Arthur and Pat Holliman of Silsbee; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

Aunt Lois will be missed very much but i know she is walking streets of gold with uncle Jr and my grandma watching over all of us and no longer in pain and she will watch of her loved ones until we meet again.She was a very wonderful woman and may time ease your pain.

I am so sorry. Lois was such a dear, sweet lady and a wonderful friend. She was always so good to me and made me feel that I was a special person. She was the type of person that I have always tried to emulate. I am sure she is a wonderful soul in Heaven.

Billy, Patricia, Elaine, and Mary I am so saddened to hear of your mother's passing. She was a beautiful lady and I thought the world of her. Please know that each of you are in my thoughts and prayers. I am unable to come to her services,but you know that I am there in spirit.
