Mildred  BarclayFuneral services for Mildred Barclay, 84, of Silsbee will be 10:00 am Thursday, April 8, 2010 at First United Methodist Church in Silsbee with interment following in Resthaven Cemetery.

Mrs. Barclay died April 5, 2010 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.

A native and lifelong resident of Silsbee, Mildred was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother. She was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church and was active in the Silsbee Woman's Club and the Literary Club. Mrs. Barclay served as a district officer for the United Methodist Women and numerous volunteer positions in the past.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years William A. Barclay, Jr. of Silsbee; sons Daniel Barclay and wife Kathryn of Orange and Harry Barclay and wife Liz of Orange; seven grandchildren Dr. Kimberly Martin, Jason Barclay, Jennifer Eggers, Larissa Monson, Brett Barclay, Gregory Barclay and Brittany Barclay and four great grandchildren, Cayden Barclay, Abigail Martin, William Eggers and Ryan Martin.

Mr. Barclay, My deepest sympathy to you and your family. I was sorry to hear about Mrs. Barclay's death. My thoughts and prayers are with you. How I wish I had been in town so I could have come. Bill, we have many fond memories of Mildred. We always considered her one of the nicest ladies in the community. What a legacy she left for her family!

We will miss Mildred, a long time friend and former neighbor. The community will miss her volunteer service. Our prayers are with all her family and friends as we remember her life on this earth and as we rejoice in her eternal life in Heaven..
