C. D. 'Peewee' Roy Click for Condolences      Printable Version
1944 - 2010

C. D. 'PeeWee' Roy, 65, of Lumberton, passed away April 26, 2010 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont after a long illness.

Mr. Roy was a lifelong resident of Silsbee before moving to Lumberton. He retired as a conductor from ATSF Railroad in 1976 after a life changing injury.

PeeWee was born September 27, 1944 to W. C. and Louise Roy, who preceded him in death. He was an avid sports fan and his favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys. Even after he was blinded, he would go to games or listen intently to the radio.

He spent his last years at Village Creek Nursing Home and Rehab Center in Lumberton. The nurses and staff took excellent care of him.

PeeWee is survived by brother Don and wife Norma of Silsbee; sister Gailda Roy Haney of Pasadena; brother W. C. 'Bo' and wife Alice of Lumberton and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday, April 30, 2010 at Farmer Funeral Home with interment following in R. S. Farmer Memorial Cemetery. Services will be conducted by Reverend Kevin McClusky and Reverend Frank Pool. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home.

We are sorry to hear about Pee Wee, we have talked to each other on the phone throughout the years. Sorry, I did not make it to the funeral, I just had surgery. We'll miss him, but God will take care of him.

Pee Wee and Jimmy were good friends in school and I got to know him while we lived in Silsbee in the late 60's, had alot of fun together. Our prayers and thoughts are with the family and hold to the memories of PeeWee, as we know there was many.

I have such fond memories of PeeWee, going all through school with him. He actually escorted me in a little pageant in the first grade. Our thoughts and prayers go to PeeWee's family. Love, Eloise and Richard Worley

We first met when I moved to Silsbee in 1976. We graduated together in 1963 and I didn't realize we were just three days apart in age. I was in the hospital recovering from hernia surgery when you were shot and I visited you many times while I was recovering. I know that you can see all the beautiful things in Heaven and reunite with your parents. Buddy

PeeWee, it was a real pleasure knowing you, I first met you when I started scholl in 1957 in Silsbee and we graduated together. I was in the hospital recovering from hernia surgery when you were shot on the train and I would walk down the hall and visit you in your room. I know you have been blind for longer than you could see but now you can see all of the beautiful things in Heaven. Buddy Falkner
