Frank Charles Ruggles Click for Condolences      Printable Version
1949 - 2010

Frank Charles RugglesFrank Charles Ruggles, 60, beloved husband, Father and grandfather passed away on July 2, 2010 in Silsbee Texas surrounded by his family.

Frank was born on September 19, 1949 in Silsbee, Texas and was the fifth child born to John and Hazel Ruggles. He graduated from Silsbee High School in 1968 and attended classes at Anderson Valley Community College in Palestine, Texas. As he grew up he shared a love of cars with his brothers, receiving much enjoyment from the time spent working on them and driving them throughout his life. Cruisin' was something he looked forward to.

His parents taught him how to work, and he worked hard all his life, never being one to let daylight burn sleeping in. Frank worked for DPS in Beaumont as an Inspector of State Inspection stations and took his responsibility for keeping the roads of Texas safe very personally. Through the years Frank also worked in building maintenance, and various machinery jobs.

Frank married Martha Wilkerson August 5, 1973. They were married for nearly 30 years and were each other's best friends. Their family lived in several different states including Idaho, Utah, and Texas. Martha died May 17, 2005 after a battle with breast cancer. Frank is survived by their two daughters Kim Carlton of Sandy Utah, and Pat (Courtney) Palmer of Cedar City Utah and Pat's children Leah, Jacob, and Michael.

Frank was blessed to not spend the rest of his life alone and on December 17, 2005 married LeeAnne Geddes Hartman. Frank is survived by LeeAnne's sons Christoper (Kirsten) Hartman of Silsbee Texas, and Eric (Teresa) Hartman of Vidor, and Christoper's children Gunnar and Alora, and Eric's son Taft.

He was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in a variety of church callings including Beaumont Stake High Council, Elder's Quorm, and High Priest organizations. His kindness and love serve as an example to those who knew him. He always put his family first. He will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he has touched.

Frank is also survived by his siblings Johnny Guy (Ruby) Ruggles of Silsbee, Gladys Jane (Elton) Lawson of Buna, Sammy (Bobbie) Ruggles of Kirbyville, Robert (Patty) Ruggles of Silsbee, Eda (Hubert) Davis of Kirbyville, and Jack (Betty) Ruggles of Kountze, Texas and many other relatives.

Funeral services will be held on Monday July 5, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the LDS Chapel 8622 FM 418, Silsbee, TX 77656-2804. A viewing will be held Sunday 5:00 pm, at Farmer's Funeral Home 415 North 4th Street Silsbee, Texas.

Interment will be in R.S Farmer Cemetery in Silsbee on 3rd Street just off 327.

LeeAnne and family we are so sorry for your loss and pray that all of the wonderful memories that you have of your time with Frank will help you get through each day. We were fortunate to get the opportunity to meet Frank while working with Cruise 'n Silsbee last year. He always had a smile on his face and was willing to help anyway that he could.
