Roy Lee Worsham of Buna, Texas, age 63 entered into his final rest early Friday morning August 27, 2010 at his home.
Roy was born July 24, 1947 in Silsbee, Texas to Tandy and Kathleen Worsham. He completed his education at Buna High School in Buna Texas.
Roy worked various jobs and married Odell Walters of Buna. They served as guardian parents to Joseph Allen Havard and served as foster parents to several other children. They adopted two, Joseph Michael as their son and Karleigh as their granddaughter.
Roy served the Lord as a Deacon and faithful member of the Grace Baptist Church in Buna. He was a long time employee of Temple Inland as a fork lift operator until its closure two years ago.
He willingly helped many friends and neighbors through any type of hardship. He was also an outdoorsman that loved to find time to go deer hunting. He was a member of the gospel trio 'One Way' along with Joyce Simon and Jerry Maxwell singing throughout the East Texas area.
Roy is preceded in death by his father Tandy Worsham and mother & father-in-law Crochett and Lanie Whitmire.
He is survived by his wife Odell Worsham, son Joseph and daughter-in-law Felicia, granddaughter Karleigh, grandsons Nathaniel and Jeremiah, his mother Kathleen Worsham of Buna his brother Robert and Flo Worsham of Hemphill and sister Betty Worsham of Lake Jackson, brother and sister-in-law Russell and Mary Walters, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Crockett Wayne and Kay Whitmire and many nephews and nieces.
Roy will lie in state at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee, Texas and the family will receive friends by visitation on Sunday, August 29,2010 from 5:00pm-9:00pm. Funeral services will be held in the Farmers Chapel on Monday, August 30, 2010 at 10:00am with Reverend Jerry Maxwell of Spring Hill officiating. Interment will follow at Morse Cemetery in Buna, Texas.
