Funeral services for Ralph Stewart McClung, 79, of Silsbee will be held September 10, 2010 at 2:00pm at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee followed by a private service at Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:30pm-7:30pm September 9, 2010 at the funeral home.
Mr. McClung died September 8, 2010, at his home surrounded by his family.
A native of Beeville, Texas, Ralph had lived in the Silsbee area since 1955. He was a member of the first United Methodist Church and had served on the Board of Trustees. He was also an enthusiastic member of the Chancel Choir. Ralph spent nineteen years in auto sales and served as Director of Transportation for Silsbee Independent School District for twenty years.
Mr. McClung was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Owen McClung and his mother, Gladys London McClung. Survivors include his wife of fifty four years, Joyce Nixon McClung, son, Michael McClung and wife Danise of Sour Lake; daughters Cindy Forse and husband Michael Forse of Punta Gorda, Florida and Doris Weeks of Defuniak Springs, Florida and seven grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Dr. Patibandla and her staff at Texas Oncology and Odyssey Hospice Staff/Crisis Team for their compassionate care of Ralph.
