I remember working at the University Press as a student under his direction. He gave so much to his students and enriched so many young lives.

I have never forgotten Howard playing the piano at Singspiration on Sunday nights at First Baptist Church on Sunday nights. He was just wonderful.

I am very grateful to Howard Perkins for my career. If it were not for him having pushed me into working at the University Press, I would never have had the blessedly fulfilling career in journalism/communications that I have so enjoyed.

I worked with Howard at the University Press from 1981-1984 as the Advertising Manager. It was a wonderful experience and he was a wonderful teacher, mentor and friend to everyone.
