 Michael Joseph Placette, 64, of Fred, Texas died Saturday, November 13, 2010 at his residence.
Michael was born July 21, 1946 in Port Arthur, Texas. He was a retired sheet metal worker and a Vietnam Veteran with the U. S. Navy. He was a member of Genesis Baptist Church in Silsbee.
He was preceded in death by his mother Patricia Powell.
Survivors include his wife, Rose; father and stepmother Jack and Kaye Placette of Hemphill; stepfather Ray Powell of Tyler; four brothers, Richard Placette and wife Renee of Nederland, Karl Placette and wife Valerie of Pennsylvania, Jay Placette and wife Cheryl of Arkansas and David Placette and wife Connie of Beaumont; stepson Eric Graham; stepdaughter Brandi Marshall and husband Jacob; three grandchildren Peyton Chapman and Scott and Alexis Marshall and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee. Funeral service will be at 10:00 am Wednesday at the funeral home with interment following at Franks Branch Cemetery in Fred.

I took care of Mike for Home Health in 1993 after he had surgery. He was a very sweet guy, My dad died during that time and he came to Farmer.s and visited with my family,,Ive always remembered that..I;m so sad to hear of his passing. My prayers go out to his wife and family .

Rosie, we were very upset when we recieved the phone call Saturday night. We know that he's in a better place and No more pain. I watched both of you a many Sunday mornings, him sitting up on the edge of the pew and you rubbing his back. We know he heard the Angels Calling him from over the shore and he's now Sheltered In The Arms of God. Such a kind sweet hearted man. We will surely miss our "Come On Now" man. Our prayers and thoughts will be with you, your family and his in the days ahead.
