Della D. Smith of Lumberton, formerly of Kountze, was called home on February 10, 2011 after a lingering illness. Della was born one of twelve children to Festus and Lizzie Cain of Silsbee, TX.
She is survived by her children, Patsy and Eddie Chadwick of Saratoga, Earleen and Jim Tom Blacksher and Mary Ellen Johnson, all of Lumberton and James Earl and Lella Smith of Herndon, VA. Mrs. Smith is also survived by one sister, Marie Nail of Spring, TX; nine grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren and twenty three great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, James Earl Smith Sr. and grandchildren, John Paul Chadwick, Pam Atwood and Steve Byrd.
Funeral services will be February 18, 2011 at 10:00 am at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee. Visitation will be on February 17, 2011 from 5pm until 9pm. Burial will be at Old Hardin Cemetery in Kountze.
