Della Mae Sylvester went to be home with the Lord, Friday, February 25, 2011 at her home in Evadale. She was born October 12, 1927 to John B. and Rosie Prine in Evadale. She was a full time homemaker and loved cooking and gardening. She was a long time member of the Pentecostal Church and very devoted to Bible reading and prayer.
She preceded in death by by her parents, her husband Kenneth, her daughter Myralyn and daughter-in-law Jean Marie Sylvester.
Survivors include daughter Dale Ann Gordon of Rockwall; son Kenneth Sylvester and wife Debbie of Evadale; grandchildren Rhett Gordon and wife Heather of Deerfield Beach, Fl., Jason Sylvester and wife Christie of Evadale, Jonathan Sylvester of Evadale and Jenna Kae Martin and husband Steven of Mauriceville; great grandchildren Klay and Jaxson Sylvester and Connor Gordon; sisters Lucille Whitsitt, Frances Patterson and Myrine Nichols all of Silsbee and Lee Belle White of Broddus and brothers J. W. Prine of Biloxi, MS. and James Prine of Bronson.
A gathering of family and friends will be 5:00 to 9:00 pm Monday, February 28. 2011 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee. Services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, March 1. 2011 at the funeral home with interment following at Morse Cemetery in Buna.
