Funeral services for Wendel Ray "Pappy" Gardiner, Sr. 73, of Lumberton will be 10.00 am Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with interment following at 3:00 pm in Hendricks Cemetery in Bulah, Texas. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Gardiner died March 12, 2011 at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.
A native of Trevat, Texas Wendel was longtime resident of Lumberton. He was a retired operator with Temple East Tex Paper Mill.
Preceded in death by parents Charlie Edwin and Margaret Ann Gardiner; wife Nettie; daughter Martha Williams and grandson Danny Williams, Jr.
Survivors include son Wendel Gardiner, Jr. and wife Donnita of Lumberton; daughters Sherry Nash and husband Charles of Vidor and Gwen Mercer and husband Aaron of Lumberton; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
