Johnnie G. Greene passed peacefully from this life Wednesday March 16th at her home, TLC for Seniors in Garland, TX. Born in Daisette, Tx May 31, 1927, she was a long time resident of Lumberton. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Tabitha Wright and Sam England, husband Robert, sons Jim, Robert and Johnny, granddaughter Christa Greene, brother Gunder England and sister Dee Lou Gilchrist. Survived by daughter Sharon, grandson Johnny, great granddaughter Katarina and sister Yvonne Lawhon.
Mother was a great friend and supporter of the Lumberton schools and Volunteer Fire Department and was a force to be reckoned with in her support and activities in local, state and national Democratic politics.
A memorial will be held Saturday, March 19th at the Bumstead Cemetery in Lumberton at 2 p.m. Donations to the Lumberton Volunteer Fire and Rescue or charity of choice are requested in lieu of flowers.
