CDR Raymond Pearson Tennison, US Navy (Ret.), 88, of San Antonio, formerly of Silsbee, Texas, passed away Saturday, April 23rd at a San Antonio hospital. He was born August 22, 1922, in Silsbee, Texas, to Thomas and Addalee Tennison. Raymond served in the U.S. Navy for 30 years, holding every rank from Seaman up to and including Commander. He traveled the globe with his family, and made many wonderful friends. He loved his career and always had wonderful exotic stories to tell. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Ninette; and his daughter, Marie Jones; his second wife, Jean; and brother, Thomas Tennison. Survivors include his son, Raymond Tennison, Jr. and wife, Marilyn of Tacoma, WA; daughters, Dinah Morgan and husband, Ed of Kerrville, TX, Annette McFarlin and husband, Rusty of San Antonio, TX, Terry Elsakka and husband, Tarek of Dubai, UAE; 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; brother, George Tennison and wife, Elise; sister, Elizabeth McClelland and husband, Robert of Silsbee, TX; and sister-in-law Marie McDonald. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, April 28th, 2011 at 5:00 p.m., at St. John's Episcopal Church, 1305 Roosevelt Dr. Silsbee, TX. Inurnment with full military honors will be Thursday, May 5, 2011, at 2:00 p.m., at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd., San Antonio, TX.
