John Thomas BernheimJohn T. Bernheim, 72, of Buna, Texas passed away on April 24, 2011 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born July 28,1938 to the late O.W. and Clementine Bernheim in Madison, FL.

John is a graduate of Suwannee High School in Live Oak, FL and The University of Florida. He served his country in the United States Army. He was an avid golfer and his love for sports led him to coaching in Vernon, Jasper, Mayo and Chipley, FL, as well as Silsbee, TX. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Betty Bernheim, son John T. Bernheim II and wife Cindy of College Station, daughters Tina Hall and husband Larry of Lumberton, and Nikki McClelland and husband Tony of Buna; Grandchildren Larra Palermo and husband Matt, Erin Bernheim, Shelley Bell and husband Chase, Amy Bernheim, Andrew Hall, Jay Bernheim, Madisyn McClelland, Macy McClelland, and Logan McClelland; Great Grandchildren Brody Palermo, Carson Palermo, and Lizzy Bell; Sisters Barbara Gustafson of West Palm Beach, FL and Vivian Bass and husband Thomas D. "Buddy" of Live Oak, FL.; Extended family Robert Peterson and wife Paula with children Robbie and Amy of Ardmore, OK.

Visitation will be held @ 5:00 p.m. at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee, TX with Memorial Service to immediately follow at 7:00 p.m
