Funeral services for John Hannon Ard, 61, of Silsbee will be 4:00 pm Sunday at Farmer Funeral Home with interment following in Cunningham Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Ard died June 3, 2011 at his residence.

John was a lifelong resident of Silsbee. He was an equipment operator with BNSF Railroad.

Mr. Ard is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Alvie Ard, brother Michael Ard and granddaughter Morgan Taylor Ard.

Survivors include sons Craig Ard and wife Traci of Chico, Texas, John Ard and Michael Ard both of Galveston and Preston Miller and wife Melissa of Forestburg, Texas; daughters Sherie Spencer and husband Shane of Santa Fe, Texas and Sonya Valdez and husband David of Friendswood; brothers William Henry Ard and wife Sue of Woodstock, Georgia and Douglas Gore and wife Margaret of Groveton; sister Kay Lewis and husband Ronnie of Silsbee and fourteen grandchildren.

I'm so sorry to hear about your dad I myself it lost both my parents so I know what you're going through my love goes out to you brother we've known each other almost our whole lives and I think about our childhood in the way it was we were blessed stay strong brother the pain will never go away but it'll lessen with time you friend for life Chris Morris
