
Kenneth Wayne Phillips of Evadale was called home to be with his Lord June 22, 2011 at 8:45 am, after a 2 year and 3 month battle with cancer.
Wayne was born to Rufus and Jessie Phillips on July 31, 1946. He was a native of Spurger and had lived in Evadale most of his life. Wayne was a member of Central Baptist Church of Evadale. He was a veteran on the Vietnam war. He retired in 2005 after 38 years of employment with MeadWestvaco, where he was a welder.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Levenia Phillips of Evadale; his daughter and son-in-law Kammy and Hank Hollis of Buna; his sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Autumn Phillips of Evadale, Jeff and Penny Kieschnick of Silsbee and Steven and Jennifer Kieschnick of Gainesville, GA; eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Bob Baker of Timpson and Pat and Jack Fowler of Spurger and two brothers, Nolan Morgan of Huntsville, Ark and James Phillips of Buna.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Farmer Funeral Home with interment following in Morse Cemetery in Buna. Bro. Roger Hoogterp will officiate. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.
