Graveside funeral services for Harold Taylor Mansfield, 89, of Silsbee will be 2:00 pm Monday, August 8, 2011 at Resthaven Cemetery under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm Sunday, August 7 at the funeral home.
Mr. Mansfield died August 3, 2011 at his home.
A native of Horse Cave, KY, Harold was a longtime resident of Silsbee. He was a machinist by trade and retired from Gulf Oil after 37 years of service. Mr. Mansfield proudly served his country during WWII in the US Army, enlisting March 1, 1940 and honorably discharged June 21, 1945. During this time, he served in campaigns in the Asian Pacific, Luzon, Guadalcanal, the Philippines and was a survivor of Pearl Harbor. Harold loved hunting and fishing and was an avid outdoorsman.
Mr. Mansfield is survived by his wife Alma, of Silsbee; children Carol Curry, Vickie Aswegan, both of Silsbee, Debbie Braun of Plains, MT and Connie Risher of Rockwall; seven grandchildren and numerous great and great, great grandchildren.
