Ann Elizabeth Hooks Frost, age 76, died in San Antonio on August 18, 2011. Ann was a resident of the Patriot Heights retirement community in San Antonio, having moved there a year ago from Georgetown, Texas. Ann spent most of her life in Beaumont, Texas.
Ann is survived by her two sons, Jack Meyer Frost and Mark Wilson Frost, and her five grandchildren: Jack Jennings Frost, Richard Meyer Frost (of Raleigh, NC), Robert Wilson Frost, Angela Nicole Frost, and Brian Matthew Frost (who live in Georgetown, TX, along with their mother, Karen Frost). Mark and his wife, Donna Frost, live in San Antonio. She is also survived by her aunt, Henrietta Marshall of Beaumont, Texas, and several cousins and other relatives.
Ann was born April 25,1935 in Kountze, TX to Joe Henry Hooks and Elizabeth Marshall Hooks. She grew up in Kountze and Beaumont. She graduated from Gulf Park School and attended Southern Methodist University and the University of Texas. She married Jack Wilson Frost in 1956 and lived in Germany, Kansas, Beaumont, and Dallas. Her sons attended All Saints Episcopal School. Her later years were spent in Georgetown and San Antonio, where her younger son lived.
There will be a service on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Farmer's Funeral Home in Silsbee,Texas. Family will receive friends before the service at 1:00 p.m. The burial will be for immediate family, following the memorial service, at Hooks cemetery where she will be buried with her parents.
The family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions in celebration of Ann's life be made to All Saints Episcopal School, 4108 Delaware, Beaumont, TX 77706
