
Juanice Kirkland Wilson, 74, of Evadale, peacefully departed to live with her Lord, while surrounded by her family on Wednesday, November 30th, 2011.
Born June 14, 1937 in Silsbee, TX to Frank and Tharon Kirkland, Juanice grew up in Vidor and graduated from Vidor High School in 1955. She studied Art at Lamar in Beaumont for two years, and later met Ernest Wilson and they married on July 19, 1957. They moved to Evadale in 1964 where they continued to raise their family.
Juanice was a very talented artist throughout her lifetime. Their home in Evadale is filled with a lifetime of artwork of the family she loved so much and the places she had traveled.
Survivors include her loving husband of 54 years, Ernest Wilson, and their three daughters; Kerrie Wilson of Evadale, Tx, Diane and Jude Schexnyder of Georgetown, Tx, and Christina and James Craig of Dallas, Tx.; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and brother Steve Kirkland and wife Lou of Vidor, Tx.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Montgomery Merrell of Dallas Tx, parents, Frank and Tharon Kirkland of Vidor, Tx, and brother Elvis Kirkland of Winnie, Tx.
Pallbearers are her grandsons, Christopher Fikes, Harry Corbett, III, Colin Schexnyder, Ethan Schexnyder, Brandon Merrell and her son in law, Jude Schexnyder.
Visitation is Thursday, December 1, 2011 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee Texas. Services will be held 2pm Friday December 2nd at Farmer Funeral Home, officiated by Reverend Roger Hoogterp of Central Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Holton Cemetery in Jasper, Texas.
