Funeral services for Virgil Andrew 'Blackie' Watts, 84, of Silsbee will be 10:00 am Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Farmer Funeral Home with interment following in R S Farmer Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Watts died January 10, 2012 at his residence.

Blackie was a native of Fred and a lifelong resident of Silsbee. He proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII. After his discharge, he worked for American Republic, Sinclair and Arco. He retired from Arco with over 36 years total service.

He was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Katherine 'Kitty' Watts, parents Charlie L. Watts and Elois Strahan Fee, brothers Robert, Dick and Willie Lee, sisters Odette and Jimmie Lee, grandson Derick Lynn Welborn, great grandson Jimmy Christian Hill and brother-in-law Leroy Fuller.

Survivors include his daughter Sarah Welborn and husband Bo of Silsbee; son Gary Watts and wife Linda of Lumberton; sister Virgie Nelson of Fred; grandchildren Keisha Bertling and husband Greg, Kelly Hill and husband JC, Meagan Watts and Trey Irvine, Travis Watts and great grandchildren Josh Bertling, Adam Bertling, Kynleigh Hill, K J Hill, Peightyn Irvine and Trinity Irvine.
