Funeral services for Derrell Anthony Ferguson, Sr., 50, of Silsbee will be 3:00pm Friday, February 17, 2012 at R.S. Farmer Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 1:00pm Friday until time of service at the funeral home.
Mr. Ferguson was a native of Kountze and resident of Silsbee and was a Conductor for BNSF.
He died February 14, 2012 at his residence.
Mr. Ferguson was preceded in death by Father James Ferguson, Sr. and brother Ricky Ferguson.
Survivors include mother Theresa Ferguson of Silsbee; two sons Derrell Ferguson, Jr. and wife Ashley and Derrekk Ferguson all of Silsbee; two sisters Tina Ferguson of Lumberton and Lani Yamashita of Hawaii; two brothers James Ferguson, Jr. and Andy Ferguson both of Evadale along with two grandchildren Levi and Laikyn Ferguson.

I just found out Derrell passed away! I'm just dumbfounded. I remember Derrell from The Marines and how BUILT he was! I had not scene him since the mid 1980s. Derrell died too soon! From your cousin Ronald in La Mesa (San Diego), CA, USA. WOW!

In memory of my brother with the most beautiful heart:
One afternoon, as we gathered in the kitchen, between one of the many hospital visits, my brother sat at the table and you could see from his face that he was pondering a thought, he said, in almost a whisper, "Don't you wish there was an island somewhere, that had no alcohol, no sickness, no sadness? Almost instantly I said, there is a place like that! He said, with a smile, "I want to live there." Our hope is that he has found his "island" and he's looking down on all of us now, with JOY, as he stands next to his Father in heaven, whispering, please don't cry for me, I'm home, I'm finally home. You're chains are gone.....you've been set free. I love you so much my precious brother.
