Valree Karr was born February 20, 1924 at Lone Grove, Oklahoma to Bill Grover and Linnie Simpson Grover.

Ms. Karr died March 5, 2012 in Silsbee, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Louvene, granddaughter, Reba Jolain Robinson and great grandson, Cameron Karr.

She is survived by her spouse, Sam W. Karr of Silsbee, Texas; daughter, Elaine and husband John Robinson of Beaumont, TX.; sons Sam D. and wife Linda Karr of Silsbee, TX. and Rob and wife Susan Karr of Euless, TX. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Fern Grover; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Sue and Bobby Chandler of Ardmore, OK.; grandchildren Clint and Dannette Robinson of Houston, TX., Derrick and Tara Robinson of Sour Lake, TX., Brad Riley, Kellie Riley of Evadale, TX., Trey and Kelly Karr of Bridge City, TX. and Belle Karr Richardson and husband David of Flower Mound, TX., seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Ms. Karr was a retired LVN who worked at Herman Memorial Baptist Hospital, TB Control and Lamar University Health Center.

Ms. Karr was a member of First United Methodist Church in Silsbee, TX. When her health permitted, Ms. Karr enjoyed working in her church teaching children's Sunday School classes and Vacation Bible School. She was often called upon to decorate various events at her church.

The family requests that memorial contributions in honor of Ms. Karr be made to the First United Methodist Church of Silsbee.

Funeral services will be held 10:00am Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at R.S. Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee, TX. with burial following at R. S. Farmer Memorial Cemetery in Silsbee, TX. Visitation will begin 5:00pm Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at the funeral home.
