Funeral services for Evan Rene' Lemons, Sr., 87, of Silsbee will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Silsbee under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home with interment following at Davis Cemetery in Beulah Springs. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Lemons died May 6. 2012 at his residence.
Evan was a native of Teneha, Texas and a long time resident of Silsbee. He retired from Center Point Energy. Evan proudly served his country during WWII with the Army Air Corp traveling around the world before returning home. He was a deacon and actively involved in First Baptist Church. He also loved to fly and was a pilot and he had served as Fire Chief with the Liberty Fire Department. He was happiest spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Norma Lemons of Silsbee; sons Evan Rene' (Buzz) Lemons, Jr. of Silsbee and Norman Bruce Lemons and wife Belinda of Dayton; daughter Linda Marie Edwards and husband Dale of Onalaska; eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
