Funeral services for Cecil Alfred Verdine, 93, of Silsbee will be 10:00 am Monday, July 9, 2012 at Farmer Funeral Home with interment following at Knupple Cemetery in Silsbee. Visitation will be 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Verdine died July 6, 2012 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.
Cecil was a native of Beaumont and a longtime Silsbee resident. He was a 45 year member of the Silsbee Country Club where he was an avid golfer. He was also a member of Friendship Baptist Church and Local 195. Cecil was a retired pipefitter with Crown Pipe Shop.
Cecil is preceded in death by his wife Jewel Verdine and parents Edvole and Minnie Verdine.
Survivors include daughters Beverly Barnett and husband Leonard of Silsbee and Cecile Clauder and husband Robert of Lumberton; brothers Bobby Verdine of Alvin and Clifford Verdine of Katy; two grandchildren Mike Barnett of Alvin and Al Barnett of Silsbee; two great grandchildren Scott Barnett and Jessica Barnett both of Silsbee; one niece and one nephew and a host of friends.
