Laura Sue Gore was born on August 28, 1947 in Beaumont, Texas to Marion and Shella Mae Leatherwood. She passed away on March 24, 2014 in Baytown, Texas.
Laura was an independent spirit that traveled the world - from Turkey to Indonesia to all over the United States. After her husband, Garland Brant Gore, died, she came back to East Texas where she graduated from Lamar University with a degree in Social Work. She then worked as administrator of nursing homes in East Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Her survivors include her son, George Gore, his wife Jennifer, and their children, Hannah and Trevor; her daughter, Kimberly Hargraves; her companion Joseph Hooks; and her loving sisters, Billie Mae OLeary, Marion Herrington, and Dale McKnight.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Friday, March 28, 2014, at Farmer Funeral Home with interment to follow at RS Farmer Memorial Cemetery in Silsbee. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until 2 pm on Friday, March 28, 2014.
