A funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee, Texas for William Sonny Russell Rogers.
Sonny Rogers, 82, passed away on May 15, 2014 in Beaumont, Texas. He was born on April 19, 1932 in Haynesville, Louisiana to William and Quinnie Lee Rogers. Sonny retired from Dow Chemical in 1995, after 33 years of service. In years past, he volunteered for the Angleton Volunteer Fire Department and the Marshall Payne Memorial Trail Ride. He was a military veteran, having served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Sonny was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sherrie Rogers Henslee; three sisters; and a brother.
Sonny is survived by his wife, Loretta "Rita" Wiethop Rogers; daughters, Brenda Sue Thompson and husband, Cecil Sanchez; Denise Rogers Faries; sons-in-law, David Thompson and Jesse Henslee; stepdaughters, Peggy Story and husband, James; Teresa Hawkins and husband Rick; stepsons, Tom Wiethop and wife, Jeani; Charles Wiethop; sister, Jackie Alfonso and husband Bob; grandchildren, Brian Thompson and wife Jessica; Russell Thompson; Stephanie Faries Clark and husband, Aaron; Richard Faries and wife Katie; Chris Henslee; Micheal Story and wife Melissa; Nichole Story; Nicholas Bowden; and nine great grandchildren.
