Raymond Gordon “Cotton” Cyrus, 85, of Barboursville, passed away November 14, 2023 at Cabell Health Care. He was born March 22, 1938, in Huntington, WV, son of the late Warren Tony and Vicie Sargent Cyrus. He was also preceded in death by his wife Margaret Cyrus, son Tony Cyrus and infant Vicie Renee Cyrus. He is survived by one daughter Robin L. Smith of Pittsburgh, PA; two sons Aaron Cyrus of Pittsburgh, PA, and Rocky Cox of Barboursville; two sisters Shirley Davis and Mary Lou Sexton; one brother Stuart Cyrus; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Bob Ray. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. He has tagged the last calf, stretched his last run of barbed wire and put out the last bale of hay.
