We are devastated to announce the passing of Darrell Ramey, age 85, of Franklin, NC. Darrell left us on November 14, 2023 at 8:10 in the morning from a heart attack. Darrell was the gentlest soul, the kindest man who ever lived. Darrell made friends wherever he went and was loved dearly by many. He was an amazing man who lived an extraordinary life; he seemed to have found the secret to unending optimism and generously spread joy and rays of sunshine in the lives of everyone who knew him. He was an Army veteran, who loved his country, his family, music and dancing; which is what he missed the most after he could no longer walk. Darrell was affectionately known as Daddy, Brother, Grandpa, Uncle Gene, and Big Wheel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Genoa and Roy Ramey of West Virginia, and his wife Verity Grace Ramey of Franklin, NC. He left behind four daughters, Lisa Dianne Ramey and her husband (Patrick Church), Laura Dannae Ramey, Leah Darlene Molina and her husband (Nestor Molina), and Leslie Dawn Richardson and her husband (Ty Richardson); brothers Doug Ramey and John Ramey; grandchildren Brandon Church and wife (Lindsey Church), Derek Church and his wife (Tatiana Church), and Natasha Church, Falon Ramey, Ashley Ramey/Rice and her husband (Kenny Rice), and Bruce Ramey, Allison Molina, CJ Molina and his wife (Kayla Cochran), Destiny Richmond and her husband (Joe Richmond), Craig Molina, and Larissa Molina, Ty Richardson, and Burke Richardson; great-grandchildren Alex Church, Peyton Church, Colton Church, Braxton Church, Leighton Church, Cameron Church, and Charlotte Church and Luciana Church, Joey Richmond and Destiny Marie Richmond, Jay King and Brandon Shuler Jr., Cameron Molina, Ethan Molina, Kenleigh Hornbuckle, and Shane Hornbuckle, Carmen Molina, Sophia Jo Molina, Kane Molina, Ezra Molina, and AJ Molina, Emilee Ramey, Waylon Ramey, Madison Grace Ramey, and Kaden Ramey, Jeremiah Molina, and Nevaeh De Lo Santos; and also many nieces and nephews. The service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 4, 2023 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, WV 25504. Burial will be in Ramey Cemetery.
