
Opal Louise Leadman, 90, of Milton, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. She was born July 24, 1933 in Mason County, W.Va., a daughter of the late John and Stella Wray Hughes. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Denzel Leadman; one daughter, Connie Chapman; one sister, Rosalee Ball; one brother, Jimmie Hughes and by a daughter-in-law, Carla Leadman. She is survived by one son, Larry Leadman and wife, Donna; two sisters, Evelyn Starkey and Mary Chapman and husband, Bob; three brothers, Johnnie Hughes and wife, Judy, Billy Hughes and wife, Margaret and Richie Hughes and wife, Teri; son-in-law, Bill Chapman; four grandchildren, Eric Leadman and wife, Crissy, Elizabeth Black and husband, Randy, Tracie Carter and husband, Kenny and Josh Chapman and wife, Missy; two great grandchildren, Carlee Leadman and Braxtin Carter; step grandchild, Chris Brown and wife, Ashley; and two step great grandchildren, Bowen Brown and Baker Brown. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at Balls Chapel Church, Ashton with Pastor Bill Spears officiating. Burial will follow in the Balls Chapel Cemetery. Friends may visit from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 24, 2024 at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton and also one hour prior on Tuesday at the church.
