1914 - 2004
Rev. Phillip Burdine Woody, age 90, of 66 Twin Creeks Rd., Bremen passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2004. Rev. Woody was born in Cherokee County, NC on February 6, 1914. He was the son of the late Mr. Joseph Woody and the late Mrs. Elzina Woody. Rev. Woody was also a retired farmer. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jesse James Woody.
Survivors include four daughters, Virginia Eaves of Temple, Geraldine Adams of Cedartown, Janice Wright of Bremen, and Sadie Shelnutt of Temple; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and nineteen great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, August 12, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. from the Oak Hill Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Clarence Agan and Rev. Shae Tallent officiating. Music will be rendered by Carolyn Loveless and Tina Summerville. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Church of God of Prophecy with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Adam Downs, Dan Jarrell, Jerry Houston, Shawn Fletcher, Vernon Eaves, and Keith Henderson.
Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
