1934 - 2004
Raymond Otis Affolter, 70, of Vinton, passed away Sunday, Dec. 5, 2004, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 10, 1934, in Charleston, W.Va., son of the late J. Will and Wilda Affolter.
Following his retirement in 1999 from Power Technology in Columbus, with 50 years of service, he moved to Gallia County, where he was a member of the Living Water Church at Kerr.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Reba Affolter; a daughter, Beverly Affolter; and an infant brother, Clifford Affolter.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Marcum Turner Affolter; children, Gail Stout of Anderson, Ind., Steve (Charlotte) Affolter of Stoutsville, Ohio, and Drema (Jim) Moore of Obetz; and stepchildren, Jack (Ruth) Harless of Centerville, Jeffrey (Carol) Turner of Rio Grande, and Gregory (Hester) Turner of Vinton.
He is also survived by seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, nine stepgrandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren; and brothers and sisters, John (Mary) Affolter of Miami, Fla., Mildred Call of Buffalo, W.Va., and Frances Grant of Teays Valley, W.Va.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004, at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home in Vinton, with the Rev. Dan Freeman officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Fernwood Cemetery at Lockbourne. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, one hour prior to services.
